Dirt Bike Lighting
Light the Way on Your Dirt Bike
You don’t always ride on a track, in perfectly clear weather, with the sun shining overhead. Sometimes it gets dark, or the weather is bleak or you head into a dense patch of ground cover. Navigating blind is a dangerous practice considering the variety of off-road lighting available for dirt bike riders. Old headlights took a lot of power. The sealed glass units were dangerous in rough riding and they didn’t put out a lot of light. The weight, combined with the inefficiency, made lighting a nuisance. But today’s compact and highly efficient LED systems are perfect for dirt bike situations. Modern lighting requires only a few amps of draw from the charging system to operate and are lightweight to mount.
Choosing the Right Lights
Traditional headlight mount kits come in a variety of designs, taking into account brake cables, padding and accessories for rugged off road riding. The front shields provide a spot for racing numbers, sponsor tags and graphics. Grab handles behind let the rider adjust the lighting according to course needs. Under frame lighting and side lighting helps riders spot debris and hazards on a dark course or when riding at night. Rock climbing is made easier when outcroppings and sharp points can be picked up in surrounding beams rather than finding them in your tire. Know the riding areas you will visit. Some off-road courses cross roadways. Any riding on a public highway requires DOT legal lighting. Make sure you outfit your dirt bike with the proper equipment for the area. Racers and off-roaders know the less you have on your ride, the faster it will go and the easier to maneuver. Never sacrifice safety for speed - order lights from us.
