ATV Brake Lines
It's a No-Go If You Can't Stop Your ATV
When you have to stop your ATV on the spot, the last thing that should be a concern is whether your brake lines are up to the task. Going fast is fun, but being able to stop is vital. As with the whole braking system, the hydraulic lines must be properly maintained to work. New replacement brake lines from Racing Powersprots give riders peace of mind. Constant maintenance and repairs are a standard part of the off-roading hobby. As long as the brakes stop the atv, most riders don’t consider the wear being placed on the system. Aside from stopping a machine in an emergency situation, properly maintained braking systems help riders and racers with controlling their line on the track. Too little braking pressure from soft lines or low fluid can make tight hairpin turns or controlled landings impossible.
Get the Right Part
Brake hoses are under a tremendous amount of pressure when engaged. The hydraulic fluid in a brake system is compressed as the handle is squeezed and this exerts pressure on the brake pads. If a brake line cannot hold the pressure, the system fails and the pads cannot squeeze tight enough to be effective. When inspecting the brake lines, be aware of nicks or cuts in the rubber, or chafing and weather cracking. Rubber naturally ages over time, and even without an aggressive riding style, hoses can require updating. When choosing the type of replacement brake line, consider how ruggedly the ATV will be used.
